Best gardens and arboretums

It is a delightful time of year to visit some gardens. The spring flowers are blooming in full force. The weather is slowly warming. This spring, consider taking a day trip to view some of the world class gardens on the NC coast.

Here are a few of our favorites:

Airlie Gardens

The garden’s springtime blooms are in full effect from mid-March to mid-April. They have over 75,000 azaleas and 60,000 spring bulbs.

The Elizabethan Gardens

Outer Banks Arboretum and Teaching Garden

The Outer Banks Arboretum is a small, quiet getaway to have a quick commune in nature. They have free access 365 days a year with trails, a sensory garden, native plants and a butterfly highway.
